Francesca Mckee joined Terrapinn as a Graduate Management Trainee in 2011 after her graduation from University of Bath with a degree in Economics and International Development.  She has been in Singapore for about 6 months now.  Let’s hear how she adapts to the working environment and culture of this sunny tropical island!

I joined Terrapinn as a Conference Manager in August 2011.  I was assigned to produce the event Pharma Partnering and Investments Asia 2012.  As a Conference Manager I had to learn and research extensively on the industry. I also learnt about people handing skills as I have to converse with senior level executives regularly and convince them of the benefits of speaking in the conference.

Shortly after finishing my first conference, I was given the opportunity to become a Business Development Manager for Pharma Partnering and Investments Asia 2012. As a Business Development Manager, I had to adapt to the fast paced nature of the job.  I had to learn the rope on how to sell the conference to companies and it was really a test of my linguistic and persuasion skills. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to meet with several senior level executives.  Despite the challenging nature of the job, I find it very rewarding and fulfilling upon completion of a deal.
