The Arab Spring negatively affected the travel and tourism industry in the Middle East. Nadejda Popva, travel and tourism research analyst at Euromonitor, explains that Egypt, Syria, Libya and Bahrain were all negatively affected in the past year. The U.A.E. and Saudi Arabia have actually benefitted from the uprisings, as they were seen as stable countries to travel to.
