Christoph Mueller of Aer Lingus on how to survive challenging market conditions for LCCs

Aer lingus, Ryanair, John Strickland, interview

Christoph Mueller, CEO of the Irish airline Aer Lingus, sat down with John Strickland at last years’ World Low Cost Airlines Congress for a one-to-one interview.

Aer Lingus faces very challenging market conditions with the weakness of the Irish economy and intense competition from Ryanair, also a very vocal shareholder. What are its strategies for survival? Can it remain independent and how does it see itself evolving as it migrates away from the core low cost model?

These questions and more were answered – watch and learn in the video recording below:

Ryanair’s Ken O’Toole was interviewed by Strickland immediately following the Aer Lingus conversation. Watch what he had to say in retaliation here.

There’ll be more great interviews to come, at this years’ World Low Cost Airlines Congress. Visit the website to find out how you can attend.
