easyJet offers missed flight cover to passengers

easyJet has started offering missed flight cover to its customers.

No Exclusions Limited announced the launch of a new policy offering the protection against the cost of a new ticket, when any unforeseen circumstances mean that the passenger misses their flight.

Working with Mondial Assistance, No Exclusions will offer easyJet passengers in the UK the cover.

Missed Flight Cover gives the immediate option (at the airport) of a new ticket on the next available flight at no additional cost, or the choice of a full flight refund, as long as the claim is registered within four hours of the missed flight’s scheduled departure time.

Mark Brown, Category Manager, easyJet: “We’re delighted to be the first airline to offer Missed Flight Cover to our passengers, which we think perfectly complements our existing range of travel insurance products”.

It cost £7.50 single flight or £9.50 return, alongside a flight booking on easyJet.com.

How important a revenue stream is insurance to low cost airlines? Can you see other low cost airlines offering this policy?
