In this interview with Air Transport News Carolyn McCall answers the following questions:
- What do you see as the next step in the European aviation market as a whole and especially in the low cost sector?
- Do you see any kind of consolidation of low cost carriers?
- There was a discussion in the past about alliances between low cost carriers but this is not happening really in the aviation. Do you see that perhaps easyJet can establish an alliance over the future as f.ex JetBlue?
- Singapore Airlines announced a low cost long haul carrier. There is Air Asia X already flying to Europe. Is there any future plan for easyJet to become active also this market?
- You announced back in 2007 was an environmental initiative. What are the next steps based on this plan that has proposed your predecessor, and how they will affect the future of travelling and the future types of aircraft?
- If the price of the fuel goes up, are you afraid of this profitability being reduced or being affected negatively?
- You have point-to-point traffic. This traffic is mainly leisure, business, or mix of that at what percentage as a total?
- Do you want to increase the number of business passengers?
- Do you plan to do something similar to Germanwings and other carries which have left a little bit more space in the first rows to attract passengers?
- And do you have any kind of connection between flights?
- What are the next bases for easyJet, perhaps something outside Europe, close to Europe?
