Airlines deliver passengers on time in March
US Airways and Delta Air Lines were the top-performing North American major carriers. United Airlines, which experienced problems related to the combining of computer systems with Continental Airlines as the final step of the merger of the two carriers, avoided excessive delays and cancellations.
More than three-quarters of North American airline flights arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled time in March, according to FlightStats, which tracks about 150,000 flights a day.
The airlines delivered 76.77% of their flights on time, down a little more than 3 percentage points from February, but still high for the season. Cancellations remained low at 1.18%, pretty much unchanged from February.
