3 ways the #WLCAC can help grow your airline business

easyjet, Vueling, Scoot, Southwest Airlines, profitability, LCCEvery year executives from the likes of easyjet, Vueling, Scoot and Southwest Airlines come to the World Low Cost Airlines Congress to find out how their peers are growing the airline business and profitability. Here are three ways that you can use the event to help cut costs and increase revenue for your airline.

1. Learn from your peers. In 2012 over 60 airline executives will present their ideas and strategies for new routes to profit growth – you will come away with new ideas around route selection, ancillaries, distribution channels, yield and revenue management, customer loyalty and mobile/e-commerce to boost airline revenue. (Check out Alex Cruz’s presentation from last year on new profitable routes for low cost carriers)

2. Find out which service providers are offering new and cost-effective solutions, particularly around distribution, revenue management and mobile technology. The vendors in this space offer considerable expertise, and insight from the likes of Navitaire or Sabre can help dramatically cut costs across parts of your business and improve your offering to your customers. (and find out why these companies sponsor WLCAC in this related post)

3. Entertain (and be entertained!). It’s not just about learning and business meetings, it’s about nurturing important business relationships and having a bit of fun while you’re at it. Bring your colleagues along (as an airline you can register them all for free!) and build your business contacts within other airlines and the rest of the low cost airline industry. Enjoy The Budgies Travel Awards and gala dinner, an interactive exhibition forum, the paper plane competition (aren’t you curious to know what that looks like? For past photos take a look at our Flickr account). As an airline it’s also a safe bet that some of our sponsors would like to take you out for dinner to discus those strategies for reducing your costs and increasing revenue.

Not convinced? Have a look at what these past attendees had to say last year -
