#Whitsunday Coast #Airport on its way
Development looks set to take off at Whitsunday Coast Airport, Noosa News reported.
Following unprecedented interest and demand for development opportunities at the airport, Whitsunday Regional Council is now in the early stages of beginning the process to master plan the 430ha site.
Whitsunday Coast Airport’s general manager business development, Scott Waters, said the potential was huge.
"We’ve had a sleeping giant here for years and, yes, the airport has had an interesting history," he said.
"However, now is the time for plans by previous councils and aviators such as Sir Reginald Ansett to come to fruition and fully capitalise on the recent redevelopment."
Whitsunday Coast Airport is a greenfield site, unique on the east coast of Australia with nil issues relating to noise, land constraints or residential concerns affecting so many of our airports across the country.
As the region continues to grow in prominence via a diversified economy, master planning of the airport is the next step to see elements of the airport’s strategic and operational plan come to fruition.
